Ride starts and ends at the Statue of Eleanor Roosevelt at Riverside Drive & W. 72nd St. Although it uses several greenways and bike paths, it is not a flat ride and there are a couple of short, steep hills. But don't let that intimidate you. It's a lovely route through parts of New York City you don't normally ride through. Lunch is at Johnny's Wharf at the end of City Island. Ice cream can be had on the way out of town at Lickety-Split.
If you've never been to City Island, give yourself a treat. It's a quaint little fishing village that's part of New York City. And you'll get some of the freshest seafood available in these parts.
