From Golden's Bridge, NY Metro North Rail station, accessible by train from New York City. 45 miles of a mix of beautiful country roads and longer training runs covering North Salem, Ridgefield, South Salem, Pound Ridge, and Cross River.
This ride begins and ends at the Metro North rail station in Golden's Bridge, NY on the southbound side of the tracks. One cool thing about this ride is that the route map looks sort of like a ghost - boo! (And if you are into the idea of GPS art, see this great article on it in the New York Times.
Mile 0.1: "Green St." is Route 138. Turn left from the station, or right from the North Parking Area onto 138 West.
Mile 21.8: Food stop on the right - Salem Country Deli. Bathroom is marked "employees only" but you can always beg.

A note re elevation data for riders who use it. Different mapping websites use different elevation source data, and the sampling point frequency varies across GPS units. As a result, the "total elevation gain" statistic can vary widely from site to site and unit to unit. Garmin units and the GarminConnect site indicate a significantly higher total elevation gain for this ride than does this Bicycling/Trimble site. We suggest you use the elevation data only to compare rides on the same site with data gathered the same way. Go out and ride!
