A reverse directional route of the most recent PH Loop, 2013, crossing the Hudson both ways at Poughkeepsie.

This is derivative of the original work of Ron Roth and Terry Leaves. Actually it is a mirror image of their ride.

Fluid/food stops listed on cue sheet.

You can tie "The Knot" many ways. To deserve the name "The Knot" a ride must come at the crossroads of Tweed Blvd and Clausland Mountain Rd from every direction. This route does not technically achieve this (who wants perfection?). However, it takes in the added climbs of Old Mountain/Christian Herald/Mountain View and Schuyler Rd. Plenty of climbing here.

Thank you Timothy McCarthy for this most imaginative and challenging out and back ride at our door step.

A scenic, hill climbing excursion (7 climbs) in New Jersey a stone's throw from the George Washington Bridge. A very nice change from doing repeats of the Alpine climb on River Road. Dead Presidents has at its object riding every President-named road in the area off Hillside Avenue (i.e., Eisenhower, Truman, Jackson, etc.). This leads to much looping around. Do this ride with a casual pace, stick together and pay no attention to who gets to the top first. Instead, admire the architecture of the big, booming houses.

Metro North both ways on Hudson Line. Check time table. Metro North bike pass needed. Hilly route out to Goshen.

The most difficult route is on RWGPS and its cue sheet. Other options on author's cue sheet, which has been updated. But no bailouts.

Check Metro North schedule for latest train times.

There is no bailout option in the first 67 miles. 128 miles to Peekskill, 121 miles to Beacon.

"The route contains some steep rollers in the first 20 miles. It's easy to overcook it early on in the ride. Definitely a route I'd recommend with some sort of GPS available as it's around terrain that most of our club doesn't know.

Another in a set of Wassaic to Poughkeepsie. Bailout from Copake Falls to Wassaic 76 miles but trains run 2 hours apart from Wassaic. If strong westerlies are blowing, headwind on return to Poughkeepsie.

Options to bypass AV descent and Long Mtn and Perkins climbs, but why?

Metro North rail pass needed for return from Peekskill.

Water available at the carousel at Bear Mtn, before and on the same side as the Bear Mtn Inn, on the left just past the Bear Mtn traffic circle below the hairpin.

Sadly, Mine Torne Rd is closed to non-military use. Route now goes up 9W/Rt 218.

Mtn Rd above Cornwall on Hudson at mile 57 should wake you up.
