MetroNorth return from Brewster or intervening stations on the Harlem Valley Line. Lunch in Armonk (35mi). North of Armonk the route uses backroads through the horse country, riding 6–7 miles on the hardpack between Bedford and N. Salem. Best done as a pre/post-foliage ride in late fall or early spring to see houses and countryside. If the preceding days are very wet the hardpack may prove unrideable. The alternative roads (172, 22, 35 are heavily trafficked, w/o shoulder). Route can be used to go (paved) to Mt.

65 / 79 miles This ride is neat and can be previewed via satellite using Google Maps. It is an easy ride with a few rolling hills and only one steep, short hill of about 200 yards that requires significant leg strength - unless one wants to walk it. The ride is a lot of fun because of the narrow, winding, hilly roads in Greenwich township. Route loops at end then retraces back. End either at Bronxville Metro North station: 65 miles, or Central Park: 79 miles. Take your Metro North rail pass. Deli stop, Valley Rd, Riverside, CT

Two trains. Take Metro North to White Plains, ride north to Brewster and return to NYC via Metro north. 3700 feet of climbing.  This is a classic Wayne Wright Fall Foliage Ride - absolutely stunning in late October.

Requires MetroNorth train to White Plains to the start. Gorgeous ride through wooded countryside, past reservoirs. Lots of hills, but also lots of bailouts.

Return via Metro north from Croton. Some dirt roads and rough roads.  Late lunch, bring plenty of pocket food.  (Same as Croton Fall Foliage Ride but has added loop of gnarly roads.)

Once again, original route re-routed off the Grand Concourse in the RWGPS route.

Requires Metro North train to and from New Haven. Gorgeous route, especially in autumn when leaves have turned. Goes along shore then turns inland up hill through very rural wooded area. Fast 5-mile sweep down into Guilford for lunch. Return along shore.

The Grand Concourse route on the original cue sheets to the Shore Route has been re-routed over the Broadway Bridge and up the Grand Concourse bypass. Pinebrook/ Saxon Woods a stop at the Rosedale Deli. From here the route gradually gets hillier. It passes through the Windmill section of Armonk and on to lunch al fresco on the Bedford Green. From Bedford north to Bogtown Rd the route is well suited to paceline riding. The final miles above Rt 116 get hilly again but it is only a hop skip & a jump to Brewster.
